KBR Inc. will provide FEED services for BC LNG project located north of Vancouver
VANCOUVER _ KBR Inc., a Houston-based company has been selected to do engineering and design work for the proposed Woodfibre liquefied natural gas project north of Vancouver.
KBR Inc. (NYSE:KBR) said Monday it will book the first phase of its work for the project as an order backlog for its engineering and construction segment.
Under the terms of the contract, KBR’s Houston office will provide FEED services for the proposed 2.1 MTPA liquefaction plant and export facility. This work will include FEED optimization, pre-FEED, FEED, and development of a fixed price offer for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.
“KBR has a strong track record for developing LNG projects in British Columbia and we look forward to leveraging that experience once again,” said Roy Oelking, President of KBR’s Engineering & Construction (E&C) Americas business.
It didn’t disclose the value of that work, which will be managed from KBR’s Houston office.

Canadian Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna announced Friday that an assessment done by the province on behalf of both levels of government determined that the project is unlikely to cause significant harm, subject to certain conditions.
The project also requires regulatory authorizations from Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Transport Canada.
