
Shell Deer Park refinery maintenance shutdown extended to repair thin piping
The facility was shut down for repairs after thin piping was found last week at the end of the planned overhaul.
The 70,000-b/d, gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit was shut down on Sept. 12 for a scheduled overhaul which was expected to end last week, however, when the thin piping was discovered, the shut down was extended.
Reuters reports a Shell spokesman said operations at the Deer Park refinery were stable.
The Shell Deer Park refinery is a joint venture between Shell and Pemex.
